The Universal Declaration of Human Rights is an important document issued by the United Nations in 1948, in which 30 universal rights of all human beings are listed.
The Universal Declaration of Human Rights is the basis that supports the elaboration of several documents, treaties and conventions that aim to regularize and expand global access to human rights.
Eliminating violence against women, among other forms of gender discrimination such as; denial of access to education for girls and institutional gender discrimination, including the lack of job opportunities for women in different areas and in different countries, are constant concerns of international human rights bodies and agencies.
